Lohmeyer Families in Canada

The Lohmeyers seem to have arrived in Canada rather later than the USA. There are no Lohmeyer or Lohmeier families listed in the Canadian 1901 or 1911 Census. Today, there are a total of 22 households, mostly in the Western Provinces.

The Lohmeyers are most numerous in Saskatchewan (6 families), whereas the Lohmeiers are most at home in Alberta (6 families). British Columbia has the most overall: 5 Lohmeyer and 3 Lohmeier families. Whether the Canadian families are blow-ins from the southern states or arrived directly from Germany is not known to me.
