Massacre at the Rio del Rey overstated (1899)

A Reuter telegram from Liverpool states that yesterday afternoon, Mr. Walter Woodin, manager of the Ambac Bay Trading Company, received despatches from Rio del Rey by the German Mail, and in one of the letters, dated September 19th, the head agent said: - "We have just received news from the bush tha everything has been exaggerated by the natives. The two white men, Lieut. von Queis and Mr. Lohmeyer are still alive, the factories have been opened again, and everything is in working order."
