Extract from the Chicago Daily Tribune of 24. April 1890, p.3:
Davel Held for Killing Lohmeyer
Inquests were held yesterday in the cases of William Stevens, who committed suicide by hanging at No. 146 Indiana street because his wife had left him, and Henry Lohmeyer, son of Police Officer Lohmeyer, who was stabbed Monday night while quarreling with John Davel. The jury recommended that Davel be held to the grand jury.
