Lohmeyer: Astronomer (1860s)
In the "Monthly Notices of the Astronomical Society" (1868, vol. 28, p.246ff), Dr. O. Pihl of Tulliubjerget, Christiania reports on June 26, 1868 the results of his mapping of stars in one of the stellar clusters inthe constellation Perseus, using a 3.25 inch aperture refractor telescope by H. Krog of Bergen, "equatoreally mounted by Lohmeyer of Hamburg." This is work he has been "prosecuting since the year 1860..."
The exact identity of this astronomer named Lohmeyer is not yet know to me.
